10 Reasons to Boycott the 2008 Olympic Games in Communist China

by Jes

Being a blogger, I tend to get more SPAM than a Hormel employee.

Once in awhile, I'll get something thought provoking, or just plain 'WTF?'

File this one under 'thought provoking', as the Olympic Games Virus spreads through Vancouver.

Thanks to the Powers That Be, BC Taxpayers are being gouged on expensive projects to host a 2-week party. Who benefits? The big developers, the Olympic cartel and the politicians.

Now, the reason the Olympic cartel chose Beijing for 2008 was to 'open the country to Democracy'

Well, we know that it really means 'sweep the bad stuff under the rug for 3 weeks until the world looks away'

Nine Reasons Why the Free World with The Leadership of America Must Boycott the 2008 Olympic Games in Communist China
By Demetrius Klitou

1) Human rights are practically non-existent in Communist China
Religious persecution, imprisonment and murder of non-violent political dissidents, torture, organ harvesting and sentences to hard labour are widespread.

2) The lack of freedom of the press and safety risks for foreign reporters
Many foreign websites are banned from being visited within China, foreign reporters are prohibited from interviewing anyone without previous permission from the government, and the content of all broadcasting is severely restricted. Foreign news media reporters have been arrested and sentenced to prison under vague and wide-reaching security laws.

3) The 1980 Olympic Games in Communist Russia were boycotted by 64 states, under the leadership of the U.S.
Beijing is not any different from Moscow in 1980, which was also the capital of a Communist police state.

4) Communist China constantly threatens to attack Taiwan
China's government passed a law that explicitly calls for military intervention in response to any intention by the democratic government of Taiwan to declare independence. Military manoeuvres indicate that the Communists' military is preparing to enforce this law.

5) Beijing has the most polluted air in the world
Studies and satellites photos have proven that Beijing suffers from extremely high nitrogen dioxide levels, vitally dangerous to the health of the athletes.

6) China is plagued by widespread social, political, and economic unrest
A surge in huge land grabs and forced evictions by the Chinese government for reasons of economic expansion and Olympic Games preparations have sparked thousands of protests. The government has murdered hundreds of protesters.

7) The Chinese have been bribing and threatening large numbers of members of the International Olympic Committee
A number of U.S. Representatives, for example, Congressman Tom Lantos, have stated this on national television.

8) A boycott has some potential to serve as a strategy to encourage human rights in China
Only the greedy and foolish global elite think this is true.

9) Holding the Olympic Games in Communist China contradicts the Olympic Charter
The Olympic Charter defines the philosophy of Olympism as the "respect for universal fundamental ethical principles" and its goal of promoting "a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity."

And when the Games start we are all wayching in front of our tv's hence any political principles or moral/values ....

PS. Not too much hockey overthere anyway other than field hockey
I like you point #9 and agree with that as a reason the most. Well done, Jes.
China's had a hockey team for a few years, but the national program is definitely still very developmental...

anyways, I love your blog, but stick to hockey. Beijing deserves the Olympics and it will put on an unbelievable Games.
Pfft you got the soft version, you didn't get the stuff about "CHINA HARVESTS ORGANS LOL".
What's #10?

Leaving political agendas aside, I think having the Olympiad in China could be good. At least for Hong Kong. As for the rest of the country, what can you say about somewhere that has a ginormous statue of Optimus Prime?

So, we don't have to worry about hockey being in the next Olympic games, just soccer.

Regarding the politics, if the US chooses to boycott, given the climate of current times, it could be seen as a snubbing. Besides, I'm not so sure the US is ready to be one-upped once again, on the international stage.
"Beijing deserves the Olympics and will put on an unbeleivable games"

What!?! How does a country that harvests the organs of its political and religious dissidents deserve to host the Olympics? Just try and convince me that the despotic communist leadership is all about 'the olympic spirit'.

For the PRC leadership the only purpose of this games will be to win more medals than the US. This will take their people's attention away from the oppressive regime governing them and the terrible working and living condition in which they toil. Oh yeah, and it will herald the beginning of what they hope will be 'the Chinese century'. It's just a nationalistic power-play that will be remembered in a very similar way to Hitler's Berlin olympics of 1936, and we all know how that turned out.

Western countries certainly made a big mistake thinking that the Chinese communist Party was going to become a democratic nation thru economic development. Western Politicians and business people's greed simply refused to be clear on this issue even though all the signs were there. No one saw this coming except for the Falun Gong who are enduring an almighty inhumane persecution. I'm sure the Tibetans, the democratic seekers and all other groups who are being suppressed in China would have seen it coming. We have been telling our leaders for years.

Now what can we expect for the future?

Let see we have brutal regime who has killed more than 60-80 million people in the last 60 years; continues to launch persecutions on anyone who has freedom of thought and belief; is not going to assume democracy in the next 100 years; has documented nuclear capabilities; is friendly with Sudan, Iran, Russia, North Korea; dislikes the USA .Australia and Canada in that order and has verily destroyed by association and their admittance into all democratic organizations thru its corruption and bribery to attain its primary objectives and that is to carry on Mao’s legacy of ruling the world with communism.

Lets hope our so called leaders will stop being greedy and terrified of the communists and put Human rights before the almighty dollar as Canada's Prime Minster Steven Harper has done.

Otherwise the reality is living as a communist slave in the very near future .

Please check these 4 sites about the communist regime and its plans for our future. Scary stuff but all true . Speak up while you still can. Quit the communist regime before heaven destroys it and its members along with it.

Quit the CCP

Six Reasons Why the Free World Must Boycott the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
1) Political dissidents are forced to watch the Sedins endlessly cycle the puck along the boards.
2) Calgary in '88 did not have any real snow. Most people hate Calgary for being A: a total and complete shithole and B: full of arrogant, innumerate hockey fans who think 1 > 5. Similarly, Vancouver/Whistler has about a 1/5 chance of having real snow in 2010, is an over-crowded, over-rated crack den and is full of arrogant, Luongo-loving morons who celebrate their two Stanley Cup LOSING teams like they were the '76-77 Canadiens.
3)By the time 2010 rolls around, Alberta will have separated and B.C. will have been absorbed as part of the Pacific Northwest. So it won't even be a Canadian Olympiad. It'll be another American one. And everybody hates the f***in Americans.
4) Vancouver has the most rainfall in the entire world, causing such popular maladies as leaky condo crisis and Petri Skriko Syndrome.
5) Olympic Games preparations have sparked numerous protests. The government would like to jail or preferably kill these protesters. Especially ones who desecrate flags featuring the five coloured onion rings.
6)British Columbia has been bribing large unions not to strike until at least a week after the games are over by handing out 4-5 year labour deals, costing taxpayers needless billions that aren't counted on the books when it comes to tallying how badly we're getting f***ed.
