I Always Feel Like...Somebody's Watching Me!

The Golden Helmet 2004-05 Finalists are online and ready for voting.

It looks like Jan Lasak is already out to a commanding lead... check out the top 6 plays of the season and get your last fix of Czech hockey porn.

(1) Trinec sieve/goalie Vlastimil Lakosil gets the pad down to rob Znojmo's Peter Pucher on a cross-ice play. This is one of 5 saves he made all season.
(2) Canucks prospect Lukas Mensator robs Litvinov's Jiri Gombar in his 40-save shutout Extraleague debut.
(3) Former Vancouver Giant Robin Kovar is the middleman in this tic-tac-toe goal.
(4) This one-handed pass by Plzen's Jaroslav Kudrna just leaves me speechless...
(5) Jan Lasak, a Predators prospect puts on a little glove show to rob Trinec of a goal.
(6) Roman Kadera is the ultimate multitasker - He drinks a ton, he argues with coaches, he throws games, he whines about ice time, and he dekes goalies out of their minds. What a busy guy!

Extraleague Playoff Update

SLOVAKIA:

Zvolen 3 - Liptovsky Mikulas 1 (Series 3-0 for Zvolen)
Richard Zednik was the only NHLer to record a point as he potted a shorthanded goal. Zvolen is getting good production from its' non-NHL stars and having an easy time with Liptovsky Mikulas.

Poprad 4(ps) - Slovan Bratislava 3 (Slovan leads series 2-1)

Poprad was able to hold Slovan to a 3-3 tie and then won the game in a shootout. Both teams had 7 penalty shots without a goal before Poprad's Juraj Faith potted one. Zdeno Ciger could not reply for Slovan and Poprad grabbed the shocking upset. Miro Satan went pointless while Lubo Visnovsky had 1 assist on the night.

CZECHIA:

Zlin 2 - Litvinov 1 (Zlin leads series 2-1)
Martin Erat and Jaroslav Balastik had one goal each for Zlin as they are facing a very tough fight with 8th place Litvinov. Martin Skoula was -2 on the night for Litvinov and is now -4 with 0 points in 3 playoff games. I'm sure Avalanche fans won't be surprised.

Vitkovice 3 - Sparta Prague 1 (Vitkovice leads series 2-1)
Vitkovice is making me eat my words and I'm more than happy about it. Sparta Prague is showing it's 'too many stars and not enough grit/ice time/heart' syndrome that has plagued them in the past.
Pavel Kubina was the big star of the night for Vitkovice as he had 1 goal and 2 assists. Petr Nedved (with an assist to David Vyborny) replied for Sparta's only tally.
Party boy Martin Havlat has 0 points and -5 rating in the 3 games so far. It looks like we have our scapegoat ;)

Comments:
Mm, Czech hockey porn.

Man, Marty was named one of the best players of the game for Sparta in both the first and second games against Vitkovice, despite his stats. Feel free to notice how they're missing a number of players. :P

-jz.

excluding that Kadera goal, other stuff are just average moments of czech league. I cant believe how they could win. When I compare it with reels of past seasons, it is the worst year ever. At least there is some hockey over here :)
