Extraleague: The Home Team Strikes Back!

Down 2 games to 0, the home teams in the Czech Extraleague fought back and both managed to win their first game of the playoffs. In Slovakia, meanwhile, it was the visiting teams were running home with all the candy.

CZECHIA:
Kladno 4 - Pardubice 0 (Series 2-1 for Pardubice)

Failed NHLer Pavel (Liver) Patera had 2 goals as the Kladno Bulldogs managed to shut down the deep Pardubice squad. Jan Hrdina also added an insurance goal for Kladno.

Liberec 3 - Slavia Prague 2 (Series 2-1 for Slavia)
Despite another red-hot performance by Zigmund Palffy (1G, 1A), Liberec was able to win thanks to goals by Ales Kotalik and Radim Vrbata. Josef Vasicek had the other goal for Slavia in a game where the NHL stars finally did most of the scoring.

SLOVAKIA:

Zilina 1 - Trencin 6 (Trencin leads Series 2-1)
After fighting through two tough games, Trencin finally exploded offensively and sent the home crowd home crying.
Marian Gaborik (1A, +3), Pavol Demitra (1G, 1A +3) and Branislav Mezei (2A, +3)all figured in the scoring. Marian Hossa missed the third straight game with the usual 'undisclosed' injury. Since when did Czecho-Slovak teams start hiding injuries like the NHL teams?

Nitra 1 - Kosice 2 (Kosice leads series 3-0)
Martin Cibak assisted on Jiri Bicek's 2nd period game winning goal to give Kosice the strangehold on this series.
